A woman, who misunderstood the instructions given to her while checking in at a Swedish airport, placed herself on the luggage conveyor belt instead of her luggage. Luckily, she wasn't hurt.

When Nicky's Restaurant first opened in Canton, Ohio in November of 1993, as part of the grand opening promotion, they released a bunch of balloons containing dinner coupons good for two. One of the balloons ended up in Margaret and Ken Savory's backyard in Waterford, Canada. 15 years later, the Canadian couple finally made the 300 plus miles to redeem it.

According to the Associated Press, Japan just named Hello Kitty one of its tourism ambassadors for China and Hong Kong. She/it is the first fictional character filling this role. Is there nothing Hello Kitty can't do or its face can't adorn?
