China Issues Ban On Dog Meat During Olympics

Visitors hoping to see the real China during to Olympic Games this summer, if they can get their visa approved, may want to wait until the Games are over because in its efforts to beautified its image for the world, the powers that be in Beijing have stepped up security and issuing decrees like forbidding constructions and restricting cars and trucks usage during the Games, among other things.

Add dog meat to the list as well.

In today's Financial Times, it reports that Beijing told hotels and restaurants to stop serving dog meat to their guests during the Games, thinking it will offend foreign visitors.

Of course, with some many dos-and-don'ts to keep track off, some officials wonder how they're going to enforce the ban.
