People Hoarding Incandescent Light Bulbs In UK

Compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFL) may save energy and be better for the environment in the long run, but some people in the UK are sticking with their energy-hungry incandescent bulbs because to these people, CFLs are not suitable replacements. Some even go as far as buying large quantities of them for the day when they are no longer manufactured.

Why aren't these people buying into CFLs?

In short, these people complain about the light produced by the CFLs as not up to par with the good old-fashioned incandescent.

Their unsatisfactory experience with CFLs may be from earlier generations of these light though.

"They produce the same level of light. The latest CFLs radiate a very similar light spectrum," Lyndsey Hubbard, editor of Total Lighting magazine, told the BBC.
