According to a University of Pécs study, summarized by the BBC, women tend to choose mates who look like their fathers, while men tend to choose mates who look like their mothers.
The phenomenon is called sexual imprinting. Experts speculate that this may be because mates with similar features as their parents may imply genetic compatibility.
