China's Security Measures Put A Damper On Fun At The Olympics

The Olympics is almost here; let the good times roll? Not if you're one of the revelers in China.

According to the Financial Times, increased security measures and tight visa controls are putting a damper on the festivities before the Games even begun.

"I know they are working hard, but this really is overkill. We had been checked three times already before we arrived here," said a bus driver from neighboring Hebei Province to the Times.

Not even the athletes will not be immune, with the nightclubs and all being shut down for the Games.

"All those athletes who want to let their hair down and get drunk for the first time in four years are going to have a hard time doing it," Tom Pattinson, editor of Time Out Beijing.
