Starbucks Will Get Harder To Find In Australia

The majority of the Starbucks store closures may be in the U.S. (~600 stores), but Australia is being hit hard too.

By August 3, it will only have 23 operating stores in that country, the company announced Wednesday in its third quarter financial report (PDF).

61 stores will be shuttered by the August date.

"After evaluating several alternatives to improve its business in Australia, Starbucks determined that this decision, which is in-line with the company's strategy to focus on profitable growth, operational efficiencies and an enhanced experience for customers and partners globally, was the appropriate course of action," the company wrote in the report.
